Covering the impact of coronavirus on the sports world
The Players Championship opened with 47 of the top 50 players in the world as part of its 2022 field. The only problem? Significant weather delays and uneven course conditions led to some of the game’s biggest stars missing the cut. It has also created a tournament where none of the first three rounds were completed in a single day.
TPC Sawgrass aims to buck that trend Monday as Round 3 wrapped up in the morning with Round 4 beginning in the afternoon. Golfers were placed in threesomes and with starts and tee times split between holes No. 1 and No. 10 in an effort to ensure everyone gets into the clubhouse before darkness falls.
Despite the start-and-stop nature of The Players this year, this remains the most wonderful time of the golf season as it kicks off six straight months of top-tier events featuring the best golfers in the world. While attending The Players is a dream for many, simply being able to watch the event live from home or the office is an incredible treat each year, and we here at CBS Sports are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage, continuing Monday.
Enough talking about it. Here’s how you can watch as much of the 2022 Players Championship as possible. Round 4 tee times will be available Monday afternoon after third-round action wraps up. For now, follow Monday’s action live.
