The company will be displaying its entire portfolio of services and products. Visitors can find out about the company’s latest innovations, regardless of whether they visit IDS on-site or remotely. The Invisalign Plus system is the newest addition to the general dentistry portfolio. It also includes the latest digital workflows made possible by the Align Digital Platform. This platform allows for Invisalign, iTero intraoral scanners, and various proprietary digital tools. Visitors can also see and try the virtual solutions of the company for continuity of patient care and end-to-end workflows. These include the exocad software solutions for restorative dentistry and the orthodontic and restorative workflow.
On the opening day of IDS 2021, representatives and dentists discussed and presented the company’s new end-to-end solutions. These solutions go beyond orthodontics and include restorative dentistry. Align’s latest intraoral scanner, the iTero Element 5D scanner, was available for live demonstrations. The scanner comes with the new iTero workflow 2.0 software. It features faster scanning, better visualization, and enhanced patient communication tools. This will help improve practice efficiency, facilitate clinical diagnosis, and increase patient acceptance.
Markus Sebastian, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, told Dental Tribune International that the new software allows “a faster, all in one scan with enhanced visualization capabilities to improve patient communications, including the ability capture, annotate, and then share Invisalign simulates or restorative treatments plans digitally.”
Dr Ingo Baresel (a dentist and president) of the Deutschen Gesellschaft fur digitale orale Abformung was also present at the event. Baresel stated that the iTero scanners and their software and workflows are indispensable in his practice. He said, “I wouldn’t work without them.”
Yuval Shaked is Align’s senior vice-president and managing director for the iTero services and systems business. He said in the press material, “Align’s commitment to innovation and digital orthodontics and restorative Dentistry reflects our US$250m annual investment in Technology to create products and services that provide doctors with an excellent treatment outcome.
He said that the new iTero Workflow2.0 software features were designed to streamline and improve a doctor’s day and practice efficiency. These new features allow doctors to perform a more accurate clinical diagnosis, help patients understand their oral health, and offer them the opportunity to share digital Invisalign plans or simulations.
