DENVER (CBS4) – There have been a series of crashes on icy Interstate 25 in Denver Sunday afternoon involving dozens of cars. Emergency crews closed I-25 northbound just after 4 p.m. at the Emerson Street area, in the southern part of the city not far from the University of Denver campus.

Some minor injuries resulted from as much as six different accidents. A total of approximately 50 cars were involved.
Snow is expected to fall into Sunday evening.
