MARCH 31, 2022 — Conference USA announced a revised football schedule for the 2022 season with UTSA hosting four league games at the Alamodome and hitting the road for four conference contests this fall.
The non-conference slate did not change, as the defending C-USA champion Roadrunners will open their 12th season of play on Saturday, September 3, when they host Houston at the Alamodome. Following road games at Army on September 10 and Texas the following Saturday, UTSA will close out the out-of-conference docket on September 24 at home against Texas Southern.
UTSA, which went 12-2 and made its second straight and third overall bowl appearance last year, will open conference play on the road against Middle Tennessee on October 1 in Murfreesboro before hosting Western Kentucky on October 8 at the Alamodome in a rematch of last year’s C-USA Championship Game that the Roadrunners won 49-41.
UTSA then will travel to Miami, Fla., to face FIU on October 15, before hosting North Texas on October 22 at the Alamodome. Following the lone idle week of the season, UTSA will once again hit the road to face UAB on November 5 in a clash of the top two teams in C-USA’s West Division in 2021.
The Roadrunners will host Louisiana Tech on November 12, travel to Houston to play Rice on November 19 and then close out the regular season slate at home against UTEP on November 26.
The 2022 Ryan C-USA Championship Game is scheduled for Friday, December 2.
The 2022 C-USA alignment will feature 11 teams. Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, UAB, UTEP, UTSA and WKU comprise the conference for the 2022 football season.
The 2022 schedule complies with C-USA scheduling policies as approved by the board of directors. It is important to note that all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order to accommodate national television selections. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.
