With the Seahawks previously saying that had “no intention” of trading quarterback Russell Wilson, before trading him, and with the Seahawks more recently using the I-word regarding receiver DK Metcalf, there’s plenty of chatter and speculation that he could be traded.
Metcalf pushed back on the talk earlier today, saying that he has heard nothing about a potential deal.
Whether he’s heard anything doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Although Metcalf may have no desire to go to a potential new team, anyone trading for him presumably will be willing to pay him on the way through the door. That would tend to change a guy’s mind about a new team, quickly.
The Jets continue to make plenty of sense. They have the draft capital; one of their first-round picks previously belonged to the Seahawks. The Jets also tried to trade for former Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill. And the Jets have a young, strong-armed quarterback in Zach Wilson, who could get the ball repeatedly to Metcalf.
On top of everything else, Metcalf’s superhero physique and demeanor could make him a star in New York.
One thing we’ve learned over the past few weeks is that anything can happen. And that plenty of things will. If the Seahawks were willing to trade Wilson, they’ll trade anyone — Metcalf included — for the right price.
It’s a QB league. The WR position is among the most insignificant of all. Also the most plentiful. Why on earth would anyone spend money on that? What a waste. The greatest receivers in history never factored into winning.
He wouldn’t be who he is now if he went to NY. And he won’t be who he is now if he goes to NY.
Packers make more sense.
He already has the hair style for the Jets
DK is a beast and should be traded Seattle don’t waste this talent
Wilson wanted out and was demanding more and more every year, despite the Seahawks giving him everything he wanted. So they kind of had to trade him or have one more lame duck year and then he is gone. Metcalf doesn’t whine in the off-season about the team not letting him be boss. He doesn’t go on PR campaigns to try to worm his way out or to gain more control. So it’s not the same situation.
If they get rid of DK, they’re really tanking.
Why would he want to waste his prime during a Seattle rebuild ? He’s known to be volatile and the QB situation in Seattle isn’t going to help much next season
WR is IMO the last position you add on offense after having a qb and ol in place.
the hawks are in a full rebuild. trading DK would be good for him and the team
LOL, DK ain’t too bright. They aren’t going to tell you a thing, kid.
Like T.O., DK is too top heavy and that will eventually affect his route running and performance
2 or 3 teams will be close to making a trade then the Rams will announce he’s on their team.

Packers make more sense
Even though the lights and media presence in Green Bay is generally considered the brightest out there, let him go to New York. WR is not an elite position and WRs generally grow on trees.
“The greatest receivers in history never factored into winning.” I think the multiple SuperBowl rings that the GOAT of receivers is a simple counter argument. Jerry Rice.
The Rams will end up with him and still be under the cap somehow
If I’m DK, I keep my contract demands reasonable and try to get to Kansas City.
Dude is a diva and Ramsey lives in his head. Rams don’t want him.
A guy with the speed and skill set of Metcalf should be playing for a contender. That’s not Seattle at the moment.
Keep Metcalf and build the offense around a pocket-passing offensive attack. Having said that, I’ll be surprised if Seattle’s first 3 draft picks are anything other than defensive players.
Frankly for a WR to be good it requires a good line and a good QB first.
Why pay a WR and not get the picks if you can’t get him the ball?
Hawks should trade him to the Jets if they’re willing to pay the price. Two firsts.
And their backup QB
