WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – Inflation and gas prices have caused many Hoosiers to budget differently, especially when it comes to entertainment.
In response to that situation a couple of summer festival officials have said it’s more important than ever to provide low cost entertainment.
General Manager of Luehrs Ideal Rides Andrew Schoendienst said it’s been great to work with the Terre Haute Parks Department to provide affordable entertainment like the Banks of the Wabash Festival each year.
“It’s more important now than ever for entertainment like us to exist,” Schoendienst said. “We are able to come to you and keep prices as low as we possibly can.”
Rosedale Clerk Treasurer Natalie Montgomery said the Rosedale Strawberry Festival keeps costs low as well.
“We’ve worked really hard for this to be low cost,” Montgomery said. “All the events are free beside food and merchandise.”
Since many schools are out for the summer both Schoendienst and Montgomery say affordable entertainment has been a priority for this years events.
“There’s great concerts here every night and we like to expound on that with our many carnival rides and different specials,” Schoendienst said.
“This is a family event and is about bringing out of their houses, out onto the streets talking to your neighbors again,” Montgomery said.
The Rosedale Strawberry Festival will be open to the public until Sunday June 5th. As for Banks of the Wabash that wraps up Saturday June 5th.
