The upcoming Ireland series against the USA ODI match was affected by covid-19 and was forced to be canceled immediately with the beginning. Both boards issued an official statement jointly in which they announced that they had unanimously decided to delay the ODI series because of concerns about covid-19.
USA had been scheduled to play host Ireland for the duration of a T20I along with an ODI series. Although the 2-match T20I series was played out successfully, there was a problem with the ODI series being hindered by covid-19. Both ODI matches were scheduled to be played on December 26 and 29 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida.

Ireland against USA ODI Series Cancelled Because Of Covid-19
In a joint statement, Ireland and the USA cricket board informed each other that Ireland against the USA ODI series was canceled because two members of the Irish support staff were tested positive for covid-19. Additionally, two Irish members were close to them. The first cases were discovered among USA Umpires and players.
“While the majority of players from both squads currently playing have reported negative Covid results in the last 24 hours, Two staff members from the Irish support staff have been tested positive, along with multiple players’ spouses, and resulted in two Irish players being classified as close contacts. “As these risks and the concern about spreading have resulted in both Boards have decided to cancel two of the scheduled games,” the joint statement read.

In an official Twitter post, USA Cricket said that they were shocked by the demise of Ireland against the USA OOD series. They also expressed their gratitude to Ireland Cricket and the fans for their help with this T20I series.
“We are all deeply disappointed by the news today of the demise of the ODI Series. Our sincere thanks go to everyone from Cricket Ireland and to all the fans who attended in record numbers for the T20I series, and to all of our players, staff, volunteers, and other people who have been involved in the series for supporting it” The tweet from USA Cricket reads.
The Ireland match between the USA T20I series was a draw, with both teams taking one victory each. USA beat Ireland in the opening T20I contest in a 26-run win. With Sushant Modani scoring 50 runs and Gajanand Singh’s 65, the USA scored 188-6. In the following match, Ireland could only reach 162-6 in 20 overs. Lorcan Tucker is scoring a 57 unbeaten.

In Ireland in the USA second, T20I Ireland came back in the game, winning nine runs. Thanks to Lorcan Tucker’s 84, Ireland was bowled out for 150 in the opening innings. They held the USA to 141-7 after 20 overs, and they ended the game in victory.
The team from Ireland is scheduled to travel to the West Indies for a three-match T20I and a one-off ODI. The 1st ODI will be played in Sabina Park, located in Kingston, Jamaica, on January 8, 2021. Ireland players will journey into the West Indies to play in the tour from the USA.
