Realme revealed its GT 2 Pro earlier this month and has confirmed its launch on January 4. It’s still five days to go until the launch. However, the company has already announced its latest flagship camera system on Weibo.
The camera’s primary sensor will be the Sony IMX766 50-megapixel sensor, the same one seen on the Oppo Find X3 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro, both phones made by sister companies that fall under BKK Electronics. BKK Electronics banner.
The second camera could be an ultra-wide-angle lens with an enormous 150-degree field of view. The third one will be a magnifying camera.
The Realme GT 2 Pro is considered the flagship of the brand; however, it’s missing some of the phones from the same class have – an exclusive zoom camera for portraits. In all likelihood, this should not be a surprise. In the end, it was the Realme GT 5G also missed this feature, yet the phone was still gorgeous.
Interestingly, Realme adds a “2.0” following “microscope camera,” which suggests it’s an advanced camera. We think it’s an improvement on the 3MP f/3.0 camera found that came with the Find X3 Pro, which also had 60X magnification and the ring light. However, it could only be used in particular situations.
We’ll know the truth once the Tuesday event is held. We’ll then find out whether the rumors of the Snapdragon 888 powered Realme GT 2 are true and whether it’s a “camera-focused” variant akin to the Pro being developed or simply a way for the company to promote the real GT 2 Pro.
