The Manassas Park Economic Development Authority is holding an event where residents can receive a $25 voucher at local restaurants.
“Shop the Park” will be held to encourage residents to come out and support local restaurants that have been negatively affected due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The authority is also hoping to promote community connectedness among Manassas Park residents and the participating local restaurants.
The vouchers used in this program come from funding provided through the American Rescue Plan Act — coronavirus relief passed by President Joe Biden. City residents must show identification care to prove residency to receive their vouchers.
In addition to the vouchers, children will be able to enjoy meeting characters from Disney and Marvel and games, and free snacks.
Shop the Park will occur at Manassas Park Plaza on 9133 Andrew Drive on Saturday, June 11, from noon to 5 p.m. The authority also plans to hold another event on July 16.
