The Ahmed Adel Alykob returned to training with squad after a long lay off

One positive is that Iraqi forward Ahmed Adel Alykob has begun training with the squad again, and he seems to be facing the final stretch before full recovery from his injury. The Iraqi suffered a problem in his right hamstring, which has ruled him out for the entire season so far.

Alykob is progressing so well that he may even be at Ali Abbas’ disposal for Zakho SC upcoming fixture against Karbala on Wednesday.

Contract extension standstill
Alykob is currently nearing the end of his contract with Zakho , with his deal expiring in the summer of 2022.

As of yet, negotiations over a contract extension don’t seem to have gotten anywhere, and his departure from the club could be imminent, with the club taking a similar stance to that of Majed Hamed in that if the player is unwilling to renew, then he will not play.11:12 AM
