Aston Villa are leading the race to sign Leeds star Kalvin Phillips – according to The Times.
The Midlands outfit will be prepared to pay up to £60 million ($79m) to sign the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle and West Ham have also been linked with Phillips, but Villa are set to offer him a £10 million per-year deal.

Real Madrid legend Guti has expressed his belief that the Liga leaders will never sign Erling Haaland if they fail to arrange a summer deal for the Borussia Dortmund star.
Madrid are one of several top clubs chasing Haaland’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
GOAL has reported that the 21-year-old is second on the Blancos’ list of targets after Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, and Guti is hopeful that they can push a deal over the line.

West Ham and Newcastle are vying for the signature of Nantes attacker Ludovic Blas – according to Football Transfers.
The 24-year-old could be available for around £17 million ($23m) in the summer transfer window.
Blas is under contract until 2024 but Nantes are ready to cash in now, with West Ham and Newcastle both eager to sign a man who has recorded eight goals and two assists in 27 Ligue games this term.
Atletico Madrid have submitted an offer for Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto – according to SPORT.
The Liga champions are eager to sign the 30-year-old as a free agent when his contract expires in June.
Roberto has only played a bit-part role for Barca this season, scoring twice in his 12 appearances across all competitions.
Botafogo have agreed a deal for Wolves left-back Marcal – according to Globo Esporte.
The 33-year-old, who moved to Molineux from Lyon for €2 million in 2020, is now approaching the final few months of his contract.
Marcal will join Botafogo on a free transfer when he leaves Wolves, with the Brazilian club now putting the finishing touches on an agreement with the defender.
Dundee goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist has emerged on Manchester United’s transfer radar – according to The Sun.

Luke Ayling is in line for a contract extension at Leeds – according to Football Insider.
The 30-year-old’s current contract expires in 2023, but the Whites are eager to tie him down to fresh terms.
Ayling has appeared in 21 Premier League games for Leeds in 2021-22, recording two goals and two assists.
Divock Origi has told Liverpool officials that he wants to leave the club this summer – according to Football Insider.
The 26-year-old’s current contract expires in June and the Reds had been considering offering him an extension.
Origi wants to move into pastures new in order to start playing more regularly, with Milan reportedly leading the race for his signature.
Monaco have set a €50 million (£42m/$55m) asking price for Aurelien Tchouameni – according to Foot Mercato.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have all been linked with the 22-year-old, whose current contract does not expire until 2024.
Should Monaco sell Tchouameni this summer, his former club Bordeaux will receive 20 per cent of any final fee.
