A new original movie titled Love Like the Falling Petals is coming to Netflix on March 24, and you absolutely must know everything about the film!
Love Like the Falling Petals is an upcoming Japanese film directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa from a screenplay written by Tomoko Yoshida. It is based on the hit novel of the same name by Keisuke Uyama.
It was produced by Kei Haruna (Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures) and Takahiro Kawada (Toho Studios). You might know Haruna for his work on the top Japanese romantic films Crying Out Love in the Center of the World, Be with You and Let Me Eat Your Pancreas.
J-Pop star Kento Nakajima leads the cast as Haruto Asakura and Honoka Matsumoto plays the love interest, Misaki Ariake. The rest of the cast includes Kento Nagayama, Yuki Sakurai, Shuntaro Yanagi, Yumi Wakatsuki, Jun Kaname, Hidekazu Mashima and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. The drama film is about a photographer, Haruto Asakura, who falls in love with his hairstylist, Misaki Ariake. It seems like the perfect love story until a twist of fate threatens their budding romance.
Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix:
Haruto, an aspiring photographer, falls head over heels for his hair stylist Misaki. When he finally finds the courage to ask Misaki out, it seems to be happily ever after for the young couple… until Misaki develops a rare disease under which she rapidly ages before their eyes.
Netflix gave this movie a rating of TV-14, meaning that it may not be suitable for ages 14 and under. Some of the content shown in the film that parents might deem inappropriate are suicide and sexual content. There might even be a sex scene. The characters will also use strong language. So parents are strongly cautioned.
