Netflix and Blumhouse have teamed up to bring us a documentary about former Indianapolis-based infertility doctor Donald Cline, a man who used his own sperm to inseminate his patients without their consent dozens of times throughout his career. The doc, Our Father, will be released this Wednesday, May 11, on Netflix.
True crime fans will now get the chance to watch a new documentary feature on this chilling case. It’s a difficult watch, but the documentary is very well done and features many of the families who were affected by Cline’s actions.
Watching this doc will make you angry, I can promise you that. There are several devastating revelations made throughout, including the actual number of times Cline managed to do this and the fact he never really faced any consequences for his actions. This shocking and disturbing documentary from Emmy-winning producer Jason Blum (The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst), isn’t overly long, running at around 1 hour and 45 minutes, but it is comprehensive and it might even leave you feeling sick. It really pulls back the curtain on our upsetting our justice system is and the fact that the system ultimately failed all of these women.
Keep in mind that this film features difficult and potentially triggering subject matter. I definitely wouldn’t recommend watching it if you have kids around.
