Making messages available on Snapchat isn’t the primary feature for many However, some see Snapchat as one of the most important ways to stay in contact with their loved ones. In addition, since Snapchat has added new features, like group messaging and Bitmoji integration, it’s more enjoyable to use.
Since updates, some customers have observed that Snapchat keeps sending a notification saying it’s updated messages. It’s particularly odd since it doesn’t appear to do anything. It only says that it’s updating the messages and disappears a few seconds afterward. Some users have managed to get it to disappear; others aren’t sure what’s causing it.

You can open the settings on your phone either by choosing it from your app page or sliding across the notifications bar, then tapping the gear on the top right corner. From the settings menu, select Apps and then select Snapchat.
In Snapchat’s settings, turn off “Silent Notifications” under “General” and “Quiet Notifications” under “Messaging.” The “Updating messages” notifications will stop when you’ve done that. It’s not for everyone, but most users who have used it have reported that it has benefited them.
Some have even claimed that switching off background activities and data usage solves the issue. To accomplish this, return to Snapchat through the Settings menu and click “Apps.” Select “Battery” in the section called “Usage,” and there will be a toggle to “Allow Background Activity.” Make sure that it’s not selected to switch it off.
One of these strategies will be successful. If it doesn’t, there are other options. I have developed more effective solutions, such as uninstalling and installing Snapchat.
However, don’t fret about the Snapchat notifications you need to receive. These changes won’t prevent you from receiving other notifications on the app and making them louder when you’d like to be able to hear the notifications.
However, these options aren’t enough to eliminate the annoying notifications. It is possible to turn off notifications completely; however, who would want to do this? There could be an update for Snapchat shortly that will eliminate notifications.
