For more than six weeks, 20 small businesses have been developing the tools, the strategy and the mindset to grow their business as part of the 2022 Fort Worth Business Plan Competition – and now, the Top 8 competitors will pitch to a panel of judges for a shot at a cash prize.
These small businesses have completed four weeks of business development workshops and mentoring with Fort Worth’s small-business partners. Their goal was the creation of a comprehensive written business plan that will be scored by a panel of judges.
The final portion of their score will be tallied at the Fort Worth Business Plan Competition Finale after competitors give a three-minute pitch about their business, followed by two minutes of Q&A from the judges.
The 2022 competition is sponsored by Frost Bank. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists, with $10,000 going to first place, $5,000 to second place and $3,000 to third place.
This year’s business plan cohort reflects the diversity of Fort Worth’s fast-growing small-business community, as half of the 20 participating businesses are certified minority-owned businesses, and 40% are women-owned businesses. All of this year’s participating businesses are either based in Fort Worth, or have previously been mentored by one of the competition partners.
The competitors who will be moving on to this year’s Finale are:
